A heavily intoxicated man was reported and caught urinating on a tree in the 100 block of Willits the night of Saturday, July 18, leading to his arrest. Birmingham police reported that a woman at a restaurant nearby saw the man urinating and called it in. They report the man was heavily intoxicated when they found him and incoherent, unable to answer the officers’ questions. He was reportedly placed under arrest and cited for urinating in public.

Trio arrested in retail theft from grocery
Three individuals were arrested by Detroit Police the evening of Tuesday, July 13, after allegedly stealing several items from a Birmingham grocery store located on the 600 block of E. Maple. Package stolen from Birmingham home
Birmingham police are currently investigating the alleged theft of a package containing about $35 worth of merchandise which was taken from the home of a Birmingham resident. The resident reported the incident at the police station on Monday, July 13, but the report did not indicate which area of the city the resident lived in. The report indicated that witnesses saw a female walking away from the home with the package.

Money taken from unlocked township vehicle
On Friday, July 24, at approximately 5 a.m. the Bloomfield Township Police Department took a report for larceny from automobile from the 27000 Block of 14 Mile Road which involved several suspects. The reporting party stated that three suspects exited a truck that had been parked on 14 Mile Road and ran into her driveway. Man cited for open intoxicants in public
After being caught red-handed by Birmingham police officers, a 22-year-old Canton man was cited on Sunday, July 19, for having an open intoxicant in a public space around 2 a.m. The police report said the man was carrying an open bottle of liquor, which he said he found at a bar near S. Old Woodward and E. Brown, when the officers spotted him and noticed the smell of alcohol on him.

Cell phone missing from delivered package
A package that was meant to contain a cell phone reportedly showed up empty the morning of Sunday, July 12, to a Birmingham shipping store. The man who ordered the cell phone reported the incident to Birmingham police, saying he placed the order under a week ago. When he went to pick up the package and open it, he found there was no cell phone. Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing, and there are currently no suspects.

Group hits Dick’s for stolen merchandise
A group of eight males and females hit Dick’s Sporting Goods, 2105 S. Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township, on Sunday, July 19, making off with stolen merchandise from the store. Wallets, gun taken from unlocked vehicles
Bloomfield Township police are reporting several larcenies from vehicles on Saturday, July 18. In all incidents the vehicles had been left unlocked and wallets were stolen. A Glock 19 handgun was also stolen from one of the vehicles. The Bloomfield Township Police Department issued a reminder to always lock vehicles and remove anything of value. These cases were turned over to the Bloomfield Township Investigations Unit and are currently under investigation.

Man arrested after assaulting bartender
