Target employee arrested for embezzlement

An employee of Target at 2400 S. Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township has been arrested and arraigned for embezzlement of pricey items from the store.
On Sunday, September 29, the Bloomfield Township Police Department was dispatched to Target in reference to the embezzlement complaint. Officers met with loss prevention personnel from Target who explained the suspect, Derick Palmer, an 18-year-old black male from Pontiac, had stolen one Meta Quest, one pair of Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, one pair of Apple AirPods, one HyperX gaming mouse, one Heyday power bank, and one HyperX QuadCast microphone.
The thefts occurred between September 15 and September 26, all while Palmer was as an employee of Target. Palmer was arrested and lodged at the Bloomfield Township Police Department. Palmer was arraigned on September 30.
During the officer’s investigation it was determined the suspect took five dog treats, one dog toy, and one dog supplement on September 21. Pet Supplies Plus personnel say they believe the same suspect had committed three other retail frauds at the location dating back to April 23, 2026. The suspect is described as a white female.
This case is under investigation by the Bloomfield Township Police Department.
