Purse with cash, credit cards taken

A woman came out of a store in the parking lot of the Rite Aid at 42717 Woodward Avenue at Square Lake Road in Bloomfield Township on Monday, January 22, and discovered someone had broken her car window and stolen her purse, along with cash and credit cards.

The woman told Bloomfield Township police that the incident happened sometime between 4 and 11:30 p.m., when her vehicle was parked in the parking lot. When she returned to her vehicle, she discovered the passenger side window was broken on her gray 2012 Ford Focus, and her purse, which contained cash and various credit cards, had been stolen.

Bloomfield Township police Detective/Sargeant Matt Hill said, “We remind citizens to not leave valuables in plain view in their vehicles.”

Police are investigating.
