A woman was caught stealing items from parked cars in Birmingham on Monday, January 22.

Birmingham police were dispatched to the area of Woodward and Smith roads on reports of a larceny in progress. A resident living in the 1100 block of Smith reported that they had returned home and saw a woman taking things from their car, which was unlocked and parked in their driveway. When they approached the woman, she fled on foot.

Birmingham officers located the woman, a 45-year-old from Hamtramck, and discovered she was also in possession of marijuana. She was arrested for larceny from auto and possession of marijuana.
