Thief steals bottles of Tide from CVS

On Saturday, June 16, Bloomfield Township police were alerted that a man was trying to steal several bottles of Tide laundry detergent from the CVS at Telegraph and Long Lake roads, but was thwarted from getting away by the store manager.
Around 12:40 p.m., Bloomfield Township police were notified of an attempted retail fraud at the CVS Pharmacy at 4101 Telegraph Road. The store manager stated that a black man had exited the store with several bottles of Tide laundry soap, but dropped them once he was confronted. He then got into a vehicle and took off.
The vehicle was spotted traveling on Telegraph Road near Lone Pine and a traffic stop was initiated by police. The driver was pulled over and he fled the scene on foot. Police reported that a foot pursuit ensued, and Christopher Rubin Windon, 53, of Pontiac was caught and arrested.
Windon was arraigned on two counts of resisting and obstructing arrest and second degree retail fraud on Tuesday, June 19, at 48th District Court before Judge Kimberly Small. He was given a $75,000 cash/surety bond.
Windon's next scheduled court date is Tuesday, June 26, before Judge Diane D'Agostini at 48th District Court.
