Handguns stolen in two different incidents

Handguns were stolen from cars in two different incidents in Bloomfield Township in the last week, police reported.

On Thursday, July 5, Bloomfield Township police responded to the 6800 block of Halyard Road for a larceny from automobile report. The victim informed officers that sometime in the previous 10 days, someone had stolen his silver handgun from the center console of his truck.

On Saturday, July 7, police officers responded to the 2100 block of Devonshire Road for another larceny from automobile incident. The victim told officers that sometime during the previous overnight hours someone had entered his vehicle and stolen his black handgun from the center vehicle.

Both incidents are under investigation. Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and take all valuables indoors.
