Township resident arrested after robbing bank


A resident of Bloomfield Village, within Bloomfield Township, was arrested on Friday, July 20, for the Monday, July 2, armed robbery of the Huntington Bank branch at 3681 W. Maple Road in Bloomfield Township. Bloomfield Township police responded to the bank branch just after the armed robbery had occurred. They announced on Thursday, July 26, that after a thorough investigation by a multi-jurisdictional task force, James James Chaney, 55, who sources said lives on Bradway in Bloomfield Village, was arrested on Friday, July 20, for the armed robbery. The investigation revealed that Chaney is responsible for robbing three banks and a local bakery. He was arraigned in federal court on multiple charges.
