Handgun, jewelry taken in home invasion

Sometime between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, homeowners living in the 2900 block of Squirrel Road in Bloomfield Township discovered their home was broken into and several items were stolen.

Bloomfield Township police responded to the home invasion, where the homeowners reported they had been out for the three hours, and when they returned home they discovered their home had been broken into. Among the stolen items were jewelry, a handgun, clothing and other personal items.

Police report that there are no known suspects at this time, and the case is under investigation.
