Manor Road construction begins August 20

Manor Road over the Rouge River in Bloomfield Township will close on Monday, August 20, according to the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), in order to perform preventative maintenance on the bridge over the river.

The road is expected to reopen shortly after the Labor Day holiday.

The detour for through traffic is Brookdale Road to Big Beaver to Adams Road to Abbey Street to Warwick Street and vice versa.

Anticipated work includes removing the bridge's gravel surface, waterproofing the deck and resurfacing only the bridge approaches and deck with asphalt.

The project is part of a $321,970 program funded by the RCOC to preform preventative maintenance on three bridges in Oakland County.
