Man caught after stealing tequila from Kroger

A man who left a Bloomfield Township Kroger with two bottles of tequila concealed in his backpack was caught and arrested by Bloomfield Township police after a traffic stop.

On Tuesday, September 11, the store manager at the Kroge, 3600 W. Maple Road, reported to township police that a white male, in his mid 40s, had concealed two bottles of Patron Tequila in his backpack and left the store without paying.

A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The occupants in the car took off on foot, and after a search of the area, the driver of the vehicle was located and arrested.

Bloomfield Township police said the other two occupants of the car have been identified and charges are pending.
