Plumber arrested for taking jewelry from home

A plumber doing restoration work at a Bloomfield Township residence witnessed one of his employees leaving the master bedroom, and thinking it was suspicious, had him searched, at which time several pieces of expensive jewelry were found.

On Monday, September 10, Bloomfield Township police responded to the 2000 block of Lamplighter Lane after the owner of a plumbing company witnessed an employee leaving the master bedroom of the home they were doing restoration work in.

The owner of the plumbing company questioned the employee, and immediately sent him back to company headquarters. The owner told police he called his office and requested that the employee be searched when he got there. When the employee was searched, several pieces of expensive jewelry was discovered.

The homeowner confirmed the jewelry was hers.

Bloomfield Township police arrested the employee. The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor for the charge of larceny in a building.
