Birmingham Open House Saturday, October 13
The Birmingham Fire Department will hold its annual open house on Saturday, October 13, from 1-4 p.m. at the Adams Fire Station, located at 572 S.Adams Road, with fun and food for everyone.
This annual event lets people meet and get to know their firefighters, learn important safety tips, and enjoy a wide assortment of activities, from live vehicle extrication demonstrations, bounce houses, a smoke house, and lots more. Even better – firefighters will be serving up their famouse fire house chili, along with fresh cider and donuts.
“Our open house is a great time and an opportunity for community members to learn valuable safety tips that could be life-saving,” said Birmingham Fire Chief John Connaughton. “We hope to see everyone on October 13 as we wrap up Fire Prevention Week.”
Fire Prevention week run from Saturday, October 7, through Saturday, October 13.
Brand new to the open house this year, Beaumont Hospital will pass out informational pamphlets and answer questions about stroke and stroke prevention. Also new this year, children will enjoy having their faces painted throughout the event. Folks of all ages will enjoy learning how to operate a fire hose.
