Woman seriously beaten by her baby's father

A child custody issue escalated on Tuesday, October 9, with the mother ending up suffering serious injuries by the father, according to Bloomfield Township police, who responded to a felonious assault complaint.

The Bloomfield Township Police Department reported they responded to 2400 Telegraph Road, where the victim reported that a child custody issue with her son's father had intensified. During the altercation, the baby's mother suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

The baby was found safe at a relative's house, and the suspect, Deantae Danrious Parker of Detroit, was later found and arrested.

The Oakland County Prosecutor issued a five-count warrant for Parker, and he was arraigned on Thursday, October 11 on charges of great bodily harm, less than murder; fourth degree child abuse; domestic violence; assault and battery; and reckless driving.

Parker was given a $1 million cash bond.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, October 22.
