Man arrested stealing hard drives from Costco

A man from Pontiac was caught and arrested for concealing and stealing two external hard drives on Monday, October 22, from the Bloomfield Township Costco.

Around 2:45 p.m., Bloomfield Township police officers responded to Costco, 2343 Telegraph Road, where the loss prevention manager reported observing a customer conceal two external hard drives, valued at $240, in his coat and leave the store without paying for them.

The suspect was confronted by store employees and arrested when officers arrived.

The suspect, John Carlton Fair, 45, of Pontiac, was arraigned on retail fraud charges at 48th District Court before Magistrate Andra Richardson. Fair was given a $15,000 cash/surety bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, November 1, before Judge Diane D'Agostini.
