Purse stolen from cart at Trader Joe's

A purse stolen from a shopping cart at the Bloomfield Township Trader Joe's on Wednesday, March 28, led to the thief using the victim's credit cards at a Target store in Troy.

Around 5 p.m. March 28, Bloomfield Township police were informed that a woman's purse, containing cash and credit cards, was stolen from her shopping cart at the Trader Joe's on Telegraph and Maple roads. Subsequently, one of the victim's credit cards was used at the Target store in Troy, 1301 Coolidge Highway, for a purchase valued at $1,056.

Police believe it may be the same suspect who stole another woman's purse from a shopping cart at the same Trader Joe's store this past fall and fraudulently used the credit cards.

Bloomfield Township police are investigating.
