Shoplifter has affinity for Diesel cologne

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a serial shoplifter suspected of stealing more than $400 worth of cologne from a Bloomfield Township department store.

Bloomfield Township police responded about 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14, to the report of a theft from Target, 2400 Telegraph Road. The store's loss prevention manager told police a man stole one or more bottles of Diesel cologne on at least five different occasions. The manager said the man enters the store, walks directly to the cologne aisle and hides one or two bottles each time, then leaves the store. Police said each of the incidents have involved the Diesel brand of cologne.

Investigators were able to obtain a surveillance photo of the man believed to be responsible for the thefts.

Police ask anyone with information about the incidents or who can identify the man to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
