Arrest made in township's stolen check case

Bloomfield Township police on Monday, March 25, announced an arrest had been made in connection with an investigation into a stolen check that started in 2018. Police said the victim, who resides in the 1200 block of Winchcombe Drive, told officers she discovered in December of 2018 that one of her personal checks had been stolen and later cashed at a local bank. The check, police said, was for $800. Detectives working with the bank were able to review surveillance footage and later identified the person believed to be responsible as a former housekeeper for the homeowner. The suspect was identified as Cheyenne Monea Gamble, 22, of Sterling Heights. Gamble was arrested in connection with uttering and publishing. She was arraigned in 48th District Court in Bloomfield Hills before Magistrate Howard Linden. Bond was set at $5,000 or 10-percent. She is scheduled to appear on Tuesday, April 2 before 48th District Court Judge Marc Barron.
