Birmingham man arrested on gun charge

A 29-year-old Birmingham man was arrested about midnight on Monday, March 25, in connection with illegal possession of a firearm in the area of Maple Road and Peabody, police said. Birmingham police said an officer confronted the man, who was wearing all black and crossing Woodward, after he crossed the street against a “Do Not Walk,” signal. Officers discovered the man was in possession of a gun that wasn't registered to him. The man, whose name wasn't released, was arrested in connection with carrying a concealed weapon.
