Barn destroyed in Manresa fire

One barn was destroyed and an adjacent barn received significant damage in a fire on Wednesday, April 10, at Manresa Jesuit Retreat House in Bloomfield Hills.

A fire broke out during the afternoon of Wednesday, April 10, in the larger of the two barns located at Manresa Jesuit Retreat House, 1390 Quarton Road. According to Steve Raymond at Manresa, both of the barns pre-date the sale of the property for use by the Society of Jesus in 1926, and they were the only two structures on the property to sustain damage.

There were no injuries, and Manresa's daily activities continued without interruption.
