Police recover stolen watch on thief

A Pontiac man suspected of stealing a co-worker's watch from a Bloomfield Township sushi restaurant was wearing the timepiece at the time of his arrest on Saturday, April 6, police said. Bloomfield Township police responded that day to Sushi Hana, 42656 Woodward Avenue, for a theft complaint made by an employee at the restaurant. The victim told officers that he had left his $3,000 Tag Heuer watch in his vehicle prior to his shift. After getting out of work, the victim said he realized his watch was missing and that he suspected his co-worker in the theft. Officers located the co-worker, Deshawn Martin Simpson, 20, of Pontiac, a short time later. Police said he was wearing the watch when they found him and arrested him. Simpson was arraigned on Thursday, April 11 in 48th District Court on a charge of larceny from a vehicle. His bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety.
