Birmingham DPS open house May 4

The city of Birmingham is opening the doors to its Department of Public Services for its 29th annual Open House event on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The community is invited to visit and tour the DPS facilities at 851 S. Eton Street in Birmingham, where everyone can enjoy a complimentary lunch, with hot dogs, refreshments, and ice cream. Children can have the opportunity to excavate in a sand box, receive free “hard hats,” and climb on and explore a variety of municipal vehicles, including fire trucks, plow trucks, vactors, and lots more.

Enjoy interacting with DPS employees, members of the Birmingham Fire and Police departments, engineering departments, and lots more, all free to the community.
