Burglars enter Birmingham home, steal jewelry

Birmingham police are investigating a burglary discovered on the evening of Thursday, April 18, in the 600 block of Henrietta that occurred while the residents were on vacation.

Officers responded about 8 p.m. and spoke with the residents who said they had just returned home from vacation when they discovered a broken window pane next to the front door and the door was unlocked. A window screen was found on the ground next to the house.

Police said several pieces of jewelry and watches were stolen from the home.

The incident is under investigation.
