Porch pirates sail into Birmingham

Birmingham police are investigating the theft of three unidentified packages that were stolen on Sunday, May 3, from the front porch of a home in the 500 block of Lewis Street.

Police said a witness about 2 p.m. noticed a sport utility vehicle pull up to the front of a home and a woman get out and take the packages. The SUV was described as a black, Ford with tinted windows and black rims. The woman was described as a white female wearing a hooded sweatshirt and baseball hat.
