Franklin Road from Lone Pine Road to Quarton Road will be closed to through traffic for most of Saturday, May 18, to replace two culverts under the road. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day, said the Road Commission for Oakland County. The culverts are located just north of Quarton Road and between Lakewood and Inwood roads. Residential access will be maintained during the work, but a detour for through traffic will be Quarton Road to Inkster Road to Lone Pine Road, back to Franklin, and vice versa. The work is being done in advance of resurfacing work on Franklin Road from Walnut Lake Road to Lone Pine Road later this year. Franklin Road carries about 4,800 vehicles daily.
