Birmingham home burglary under investigation

Birmingham police are investigating an apparent burglary on Monday, May 20, in the 900 block of Rivenoak Avenue that occurred around 10 p.m. while the homeowners were home. Officers responding to the complaint of a possible break-in spoke with the victims who said they were in the upstairs portion of the home when they heard their back sliding door open. Victims believed it was a family member who had opened the door, but got no response when they called out to the person. They then went downstairs to find the door unlocked and nobody there. No items were missing.
