Masked man burglarizes Birmingham garage, car

Birmingham police are investigating a pair of crimes that occurred about 5 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, in the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Washington Boulevard that involved an unknown man in a mask. Police said the man entered an unlocked garage on Saturday, May 18, in the 1100 block of Washington Boulevard and removed a leaf blower. Officers responding to a burglary complaint in the area responded about 5 a.m. to speak with the residents. The victims told police someone entered their unlocked garage and placed a leaf blower at the curb. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a heavy jacket, dark pants, black shoes with white laces, a light colored hoody and a mask. A man with the same description is suspected in entering an unlocked vehicle in the 1200 block of Washington. The victim told police the man pulled everything out of the vehicle's center console and glove box, then left with a bottle of cologne. Birmingham police are investigating.
