Counterfeit bills used to purchase painting
A Warren woman was arraigned on Thursday, May 16, in connection to uttering and publishing counterfeit money and larceny by false pretenses for an incident in Bloomfield Township. The woman, identified as Paula Garrison, 51, is accused of purchasing a painting from a seller in Bloomfield Township using counterfeit money. The victim said the woman purchased the painting on November 30, 2018 and used $800 in counterfeit $50 bills. At the time, the woman identified herself only as "Pam." Police investigated the matter and were able to identify the woman. She was arraigned in 48th District Court before Magistrate Andra Richardson. Bond was set at $10,000 personal. She is scheduled to appear on May 30 before Judge Marc Barron at 48th District Court.
