Southfield teen arrested for Target shoplifting


A Southfield teen was arrested on Friday, May 3, after getting caught shoplifting from a Bloomfield Township Target store, police said. Bloomfield Township police responding abut 6:45 p.m. to the report of a retail fraud complaint arrived to Target, 2400 Telegraph Road, to talk to a loss prevention manager. The manager told police the man was observed concealing merchandise in his backpack. The man then tried to leave without paying for anything. The man was stopped outside the store and was placed under arrest by officers when they arrived. The merchandise, valued at $88, was recovered. The man was identified as Zechariah Lloyd-Jacob Powell, 18, of Southfield. He was arraigned on Friday, May 17 in 48th District Court before Magistrate Andra Richardson. Bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety. He is scheduled to appear on June 10 before Judge Kimberly Small at 48th District Court.
