Birmingham vehicle break-in unsuccessful

An apparent attempt to break into a parked vehicle during the early morning hours on Saturday, May 25, in the 600 block of Chapin in Birmingham left a vehicle damaged, police said. Birmingham police responded about 2 a.m. to the area for the report of an attempted theft. Officers said the vehicle had four marks from tools around one of the windows, as well as strike marks on the center of the window. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle and it was still locked. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time of the incident. Birmingham police are investigating.
