Woman steals nightgown from lingerie store

Birmingham police are investigating the theft of clothing from a downtown Birmingham lingerie store that occurred on Thursday, May 23. Officers responding about 11 a.m. to the report of a theft at Harp's Lingerie, 300 S. Old Woodward, spoke to employees who said a woman came into the store and stuffed a red nightgown into her large purse. The woman then ran out of the store without paying. The woman was described as a white female, between 60 to 75 years old, with blond curly hair. The case is under investigation.
