Canadian National (CN) railroad on Friday, June 7, will close a portion of Opdyke Road, just south of Kensington Road in Bloomfield Township, for a one-day emergency railroad crossing repair work.

The road will be closed from about 9 a.m. to about 9 p.m.

The detour for the closure will be Kensington Road to Long Lake Road to Woodward Avenue, back to Opdyke Road, and vice versa.

The railroad is expected to complete the work by Friday evening.

The roadway carries about 14,000 vehicles each day, according to the Road Commission for Oakland County.
