Women tries to steal resident's mail

A Birmingham resident reported to Birmingham police that their “Kuna” doorbell video had spotted a woman looking through their mailbox on Monday, June 24, and only dropped the mail when she was scared off by a chime from the doorbell.

The resident, who lives in the 1100 block of Fourteen Mile Road, told officers that their “Kuna” doorbell video showed a white female looking through their mailbox. When she heard a chime from the doorbell, she dropped the mail and ran to her black Ford Escape.

The attempted mail thief is described as having blond hair, wearing a pink shirt and black pants.

Birmingham police are investigating.
