Driver flashes gun at other motorist

Birmingham police are investigating an assault that occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 2, involving a driver who flashed a gun at another motorist on Woodward Avenue. Police responded about 2 p.m. to the area of Woodward and Bowers for the complaint of a driver with a gun. The victim told police the gunman was tailgating his vehicle and following him as he changed lanes. The gunman then showed the victim a gun, waving it with the barrel pointed in the air. Police checked the area for the gunman's vehicle, but were unable to locate it. The vehicle was described as a black Ford Focus. The driver was described as a black male, about 30-years-old with short hair and a full beard and mustache, wearing a black hoodie. Birmingham police are investigating.
