Three killed in Bloomfield crash
Three Oakland County residents died on Monday, July 1, and another is in serious condition following a single-vehicle crash on a residential road near W. Maple and Cranbrook roads in Bloomfield Township. The accident is believed to have been the result of a medical emergency suffered by the driver, Bloomfield Township police said. Police said the accident occurred about 3:39 p.m. when the driver of a 2017 Chevrolet lost control of the vehicle while traveling north on Heathfield Road, south of Berkshire Road. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver of the vehicle, Tyler Shelton, 69, of Oak Park, died at the scene. Two other passengers in the vehicle, identified as Mariann Jenkins, 72, and Brittany McConner, 29, both of Southfield, also died at the scene. Police said a fourth occupant, Michelle Vosburgh, 71, of Royal Oak, is currently in serious condition at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. All four are Jehovah's Wittnesses, and had been going door-to-door in the neighborhood prior to the crash. No pedestrians were involved. The crash is under investigation by the Bloomfield Township Traffic Investigations Unit, with the Southwest Oakland County Crash Investigations Team assisting.
