One day construction to close Lahser Road

A road construction project scheduled for Saturday, August 3, will result in the partial closure of Lahser Road, just north of Lone Pine Road and south of Vaughan Road, on the Bloomfield Township/Bloomfield Hills border.

The Road Commission for Oakland County said the project, which includes work on the storm sewer under the road, will result in Lahser Road to be closed to through traffic for the day. Residential access will be maintained during the work.

A detour for traffic will be from Lone Pine Road to Telegraph, to Long Lake Road, back to Lahser, and vice versa.

The storm sewer work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Saturday. In case of inclement weather, an alternate date of Sunday, August 4 has been set for the work.

Lahser Road carries about 5,600 vehicles daily. The work is being done on the weekend to minimize traffic impacts.
