Phony fifty caught at restaurant

Authorities are investigating a counterfeit bill caught by a cashier on Monday, July 22, at a Mexican restaurant in the 2100 block of Telegraph.

Bloomfield Township police responded about 9:45 p.m. to the report of a counterfeit bill complaint at Chipotle Mexican Grill, 2100 Telegraph Road. Employees informed police that two people attempted to pay for their food with the bill and they determined it was a phony before the customers left.

The cashier told the customer they would be keeping the bill. The customers left without incident.

The case is under investigation. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
