Man flees home invasion attempt in Birmingham

An attempted burglary in Birmingham was thwarted on Thursday, August 8, when a man fled from a home in the 1700 block of Henrietta Street after allegedly trying to open a patio door, Birmingham police said. Officers responded about 9 p.m. to the report of an attempted burglary and spoke with witnesses who said the man was last seen running away and jumping over fences after the failed attempt to open the door. The man, identified only as a 53-year-old male from Ferndale, was later arrested by another police department.
