Sledgehammer used in smash-and-grab burglary

It was more than an hour before dawn on Thursday, August 15, when a white man with a sledgehammer made a bold move and smashed out a display window at Revive men's clothing store, 200 West Maple in Birmingham, police said. Birmingham police officers investigating the case said surveillance footage from the Thursday-morning smash-and-grab showed a tall, white male holding a sledgehammer swing several times and shatter the display window on the east side of the door. The man then loaded "a large quantity of clothing" from the store to a black minivan before fleeing. Police said the man made several trips back and forth to his vehicle. He was wearing a dark hoody, dark pants and white shoes.
