Bicycle stolen from car rack near restaurant

A man who left his mountain bike attached to a trunk rack on his car while he was inside a Bloomfield Township restaurant on Sunday, September 15, in the 6600 block of Telegraph, returned to find the bicycle stolen.

Bloomfield Township police responded about 8 p.m. to the Zao Jun New Asian Restaurant, 6608 Telegraph Road, to the report of a theft. Officers spoke with the victim who said he left his mountain bike on the rack attached to his vehicle's trunk when it was stolen by an unknown person.

The bike, a 29-inch Scott Aspect with a frame-mounted pump and red bottle rack, was valued at $650. Police said the bike wasn't locked to the rack at the time of the theft.

The case is under investigation.

Police ask anyone with information about the theft to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
