CDBG hearing set for November 11

The Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees on Monday, November 11, will hold a public hearing regarding its 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which will provide about $66,000 to benefit low-income residents and seniors. Bloomfield Township Senior Services has participated in the CDBG program since 2009 and has invested nearly $600,000 in the community, which will again requesting direct funds. The CDBG program provides federal funds to local municipalities to assist qualifying residents with affordable housing, home repairs and other needs through individual grants or related programs. The objective is to prevent or eliminate blight and meet urgent community needs where there is no other funding available. Community and charitable organizations may also make direct requests to municipalities for direct grants.
