Senior cited following road rage incident

A 79-year-old Birmingham man was cited for malicious damage to property on Saturday, October 19, following a road rage incident in the area of Lincoln and Stanley roads, police said. Birmingham police responded about 11 a.m. to the area for complaints of a road rage incident. Police said a 39-year-old Bloomfield Hills woman told officers she was driving close to the vehicle in front of her when the two vehicles came to a stop and the other driver got out of his car and hit the driver's side mirror. Police said the mirror was bent back and cracked. The woman said the man then yelled profanities at her and smacked the driver's side window. The woman said the man then attempted to open her car door and tried to pull her from her vehicle, but she was able to get free and lock her doors.
