Briefcase stolen from unlocked car

A briefcase containing several personal items was stolen Thursday, January 16, from an unlocked vehicle parked at a Bloomfield Township department store in the 2100 block of Telegraph, police said. Bloomfield Township police said the victim went to the police station to tell officers he was shopping at TJ Maxx, 2139 Telegraph Road, about 4:30 p.m., when someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took his briefcase. The briefcase contained a cellphone, medication, two watches and an appointment book. The case is under investigation. "The Bloomfield Township Police Department would like to remind the public to always lock your doors and not leave valuable items where they can be seen easily by the public," said Lt. Paul Schwab, with the department's investigations devision.
