Woman arrested for shoplifting, drugs
Bloomfield Township police on Tuesday, January 14, arrested an Ortonville woman on suspicion of retail fraud after employees at a township Target store said she hid several items in her purse and left without paying. Officers responded about 3:10 p.m. to Target, 2400 Telegraph Road, for the complaint of shoplifting. Prior to their arrival, store security said a woman fled the store and got into a dark colored sedan and left the area. Police located the vehicle and the woman in the backseat of the vehicle. The loss prevention officer at the store told police the woman entered the store with a large purse that looked empty and was observed concealing several items in the purse before leaving the store. When confronted, she threw the purse and fled. During the arrest, police found several uncapped needles in her possession. She also provided police with a false identification. She was later identified as Felicia Rose Hardin, 29, of Ortonville. Hardin was arraigned on three charges the following day before Magistrate Andra Richardson in the 48th District Court. She was charged with retail fraud, drug/narcotic paraphernalia possession and obstruction. She was held on $12,000 cash surety bond.
