Police bust underage house party

On Saturday, January 25, Birmingham officers arrived around 11 p.m. to a home in the 1800 block of Pembroke after receiving reports of underage high school students leaving the home with alcohol. Upon arrival, officers could hear loud music and screaming coming from inside the house, where couch cushions had been placed in front of the windows to block a clear view. Officers knocked on the door and once someone opened it, alcohol could be smelled from inside the home. After seeing the officers, approximately 20 to 30 students ran out the back door. Birmingham police issued the homeowners a citation for open house party.
