Coins stolen from massage chairs at gym

Someone entered the massage chair rooms at the Bloomfield Township Planet Fitness on Sunday, February 9, and forced open the coin boxes on the chairs. Around 2:30 p.m., Bloomfield Township police officers responded to Planet Fitness, 6650 Telegraph Road, for a larceny report. The gym manager told officers that a man entered the massage chair rooms and forced open the coin boxes on the massage chairs. The manager stated all four coin-locking mechanisms had been damaged. He added that the coin boxes had been emptied just prior to the theft, leaving the thief empty-handed. Officers reviewed surveillance footage at the gym and the suspect appeared to be a dark complexion white male with a large build and curly dark hair cut short. The case is currently under investigation, and police detectives are waiting for video from the gym's security cameras.
