Couple try to steal steak, whiskey from Kroger
A man and a woman stole six steaks and a bottle of whiskey from the Kroger store at Maple and Lahser roads in Bloomfield Township on Saturday, February 22. The store manager informed Bloomfield Township police officers that around 8:30 p.m., two people entered the store and ordered six steaks from the butcher counter. While waiting for their order to be prepared, they began acting suspiciously, the manager said. After receiving their order, the suspects walked to the liquor aisle, and then moments later, both suspects attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. The manager said he confronted the couple and asked for the unpaid goods back. The male suspect handed over the steaks, and the woman produced a bottle of whiskey from her coat and handed it over to the manager. They then quickly left the store and were seen getting into a blue Ford Taurus. The male suspect is described as a heavy-set male with a light complexion, five-feet, eight-inches, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. The female suspect is a heavy-set black female, five-feet, two-inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
