Township residents victims of porch pirates
In three separate incidents, residents of Bloomfield Township had packages delivered but then stolen, two at the same residence, on Thursday, February 6, and again on Tuesday, February 18, and another on Thursday, February 20. On Wednesday, February 19, Bloomfield Township police were dispatched to 4235 Covered Bridge Road, where the homeowner informed officer that she had had two separate packages delivered, one on February 6, and another on February 18. She had received delivery confirmation for both. When she went to retrieve the packages, however, neither could be found. She did receive one of the packages, she told police, on Thursday, February 20, but the other is still missing. In the other case of porch piracy, a resident living in the 1600 block of Bloomfield Place Drive informed officers on Thursday, February 20, that a FedEx package containing a Cuisinart Coffee Maker had been taken. It had been delivered and left at her front door, and she had received an email confirming the delivery. She said this was not the first time a package had been stolen from her front door. Bloomfield Township police have both cases under investigation.
