Liquor license renewals given to restaurants

April 10, 2020

Two Birmingham establishments with outstanding issues that had held up renewals of their liquor licenses, Townhouse and Rojo/Sidecar, cleared up delinquent violations and Birmingham City Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to renew their licenses at their meeting on Monday, April 6.

City clerk designee Alexandra Bingham informed commissioners at their meeting, which was held virtually, that Townhouse Kitchen & Bar and Rojo Mexican Bistro/Sidecar Slider Bar, had abated all the issues relevant to their properties. Renewal of their 2020 liquor licenses were held up at the March 9 city commission meeting due to violations cited in the 2019 liquor license investigative summary.  Commissioners approved the renewal for 2020, of all Class B, Class C and microbrewery licenses.

For Townhouse, an outstanding amount for outdoor dining was paid.

At Rojo, ownership removed the outdoor dining furniture from the sidewalk, and at adjacent Sidecar, the owner removed window signage.

Commissioners voted 7-0 to approve the 2020 liquor licenses.
