Suspect caught stealing two ATVs
Bloomfield Township police were alerted that a burglary was in process at Motor City Power Sports in Bloomfield Township on Tuesday, May 26, where two ATVs were in the midst of being loaded onto a trailer, and after a pursuit, officers caught a suspect. At approximately 2:20 a.m., police received a report that suspects were in the process of stealing an ATV from Motor City Power Sports, 1645 Telegraph Road. Officers learned that the suspects were loading two ATVs onto a trailer. When officers arrived on scene, they found the two ATVs outside a storage area and one of the suspects, dressed in all black, hiding in a wooded area. When they ordered him to surrender, the suspect fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, officers took custody of the suspect, Mark Edward Lovelace,32, of Davisburg. The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, where a three-count felony warrant was issued. Lovelace was charged with unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle, a five-year felony; larceny over $1,000, less than $20,000, a five-year felony; and resisting a police officer, a two-year felony. Lovelace was video arraigned on Wednesday, May 27, in 48th District Court in front of Magistrate Andra Richardson. He was given a bond of $5,000 cash surety. Lovelace is currently being held in the Oakland County Jail. Lovelace's next court date is Tuesday, June 9, before Judge Diane D'Agostini at 48th District Court.
