Armed robbery at Birmingham gas station

Birmingham police are seeking three men who entered the Speedway gas station around 4 a.m. Monday, August 24, and committed an armed robbery. The clerk at the gas station, located at 34750 Woodward Avenue, reported three black males entered the store and stated it was a robbery. Two of the suspects were armed with handguns. They ordered the clerk to open the register, and took approximately $400 in cash. They fled the Speedway station on foot. Officers searched the area, with the assistance of the Oak Park Public Safety K-9, but were unable to locate the suspects. The incident is under investigation. Birmingham police ask anyone with information regarding this robbery to contact detective Mike Simpson at 248.530.1770.
